Craft Day

So this last Saturday my neighbor did a boutique in her basement and I decided to sell some of my crafts. These are some of the crafts that I spent all day Thursday making. My bestest friend, Kristina, came over and helped me out. I really enjoy making crafts. (ps I am still selling the BYU and U of U blocks...so if anybody would like them...just let me know).

Time Out For Women

This weekend I had the opportunity to attend Time Out for Women in Salt Lake City with some friends. The conference was Friday night and most of Saturday. It was a very uplifting conference. It really rejuvenated my spirit and left me with a greater desire to be a better disciple of Christ. I came out with a determination to be a better wife and mom knowing that one of the greatest gifts we have in life is our family! We have all been chosen to be here at this time and we all have been given gifts and talents to share. It is our duty to develop our talents and share them as our Father in Heaven sees fit. I am very grateful I had the opportunity to go. I cannot wait until next year. One of the best parts of the weekend was staying up until midnight (This is late for me!), talking with my friends, and eating a hot delicious chocolate cookie! Yummy!

Halloween Night

So I am just a little behind...Here are some pictures from Halloween night. We had a wonderful night. Oliver's parents came over along with Chantelle and her family. We had a chili dinner and then it was off to Trick or Treating. Oliver's parents stayed and passed candy out at our house so we could all go Trick or Treating for a little while. It was a really great Halloween.

Halloween Festivities

Wow, Yesterday was a busy day of parties for little McKinley. It started in the morning over at Brailee's house. They made pumpkin pictures, decorated little pumpkins, made cookies, and read Halloween stories. McKinley could not wait for Oliver to come home so she could show him all of her projects. Later in the afternoon we headed over to a Neighbors house for another Halloween party. At this party she decorated cupcakes, made ghost, colored, and had fun swinging at the pinata-collecting even more candy. Then last night our family headed over to the legacy center for their Halloween Extravaganza. We had fun Trick or Treating around the track, which they had turned into a little spook alley. After trick or treating we went and ate sloppy joes while we watched Monsters and Aliens on a ginormous screen they set up. McKinley loved watching the movie. We were all exhausted after a long, but enjoyable day!

Here McKinley is painting her pumpkin with marshmallows on sticks.

HaLLowEEn PArtY!

Last night we went to a couple of Halloween parties. First we went over to Cameron and Laura's ward trunk or treat. The kids loved going car to car collecting candy. Dillon's costume was the best because it was a little small so he had a perma weggie.....I should have gotten a picture-maybe on Halloween night. After the trunk or treat we headed over to our ward Halloween Party. There were tacos, face painting, a fishing pond, tug-o-war, and a little spook alley. There was a great time had by all!

Our ward made a music video for a stake activity. They tried to replicate the video Love Me Tender off of You tube (which is labeled the worst video). This was Oliver's AWESOME costume!

Magic word...

So yesterday morning I was eating breakfast and McKinley asked for a bite of my food. I asked, "What is the magic word?" and
McKinley answered, "Misca Musca Mickey Mouse."
Oliver and I started laughing so hard. Oliver said, "So, I guess that is the new magic word!"
I love my little munchkin!

Earrings

I have wanted to pierce McKinley's ears for quite some time now, but my sweet husband felt differently about it then I did. He said McKinley could get her ears pierced when she asked (He thought she would not ask for a few years). Well a few weeks ago McKinley was watching me put my earrings in and said, "Mommy earrings." While pointing to her ears. I told her she needed to ask Daddy. The next day we were driving and sure enough the subject of earrings came up again and McKinley said, " Daddy earrings." Oliver's face was priceless. I am sure he thought I had set her up to it, but I reassured him that I had not. So, shortly after this Tiffany informed me that she was going to pierce Paige's ears. I thought it would be great to go together. I talked to Oliver and said I was going to go with Tiffany, but not sure I would pierce McKinley's ears. Well when I got there I decided to just do it. (with Oliver knowing of course). So here is the process of the piercing.

McKinley and I waiting nervously for her to get her ears pierced.

Making the marks...I opted not to show the picture of the actual piercing. McKinley did cry.

As soon as McKinley saw her cute earrings in the mirror she was happy. Even the next morning Oliver told me how cute McKinley looked in her earrings. I am glad that I we decided to get her ears pierced.

Elephant parade

Last week we went up to Salt lake and watch the Elephant parade. They were doing activities at the Discovery Gateway and so we played there first and then got great seats for the parade. At the Discovery Gateway we painted pictures with balloons, the kids got a animal balloon, and they had circus type games in the lobby. The kids had a great time!

McKinley and I waiting for the Elephants

Everyone excited for the parade

They gave the kids these little signs. At one point McKinley, Parker, and Tyler were all the curb with their signs....They seriously looked like little protesters!

And finally the elephants. McKinley was a little afraid. I think it was the sirens that set her off in the beginning, but luckily she was at least able to see these amazing creatures!

Gymnastic Time

My neighbor opened a little gym in her basement and we decided to try it out. McKinley is a little monkey and absolutely loved this class. We are going to wait and sign her up in January.

Hanging on the bars.

I think she looks so big in this picture. She already is such a little gymnast!

Here she is walking along the bars. McKinley did really well especially at following directions.

The Belly is getting bigger.

These pictures were taken at the Brown Family reunion. I wasn't very good at taking pictures of my belly with McKinley and so I decided to try and be a little better with this one.

This is just of fun one of me and Oli

....and it's a BOY

We are so excited to welcome a new edition to our family on January 27th. I had my ultrasound yesterday and went in thinking I was having a girl. The ultrasound tech asked me what I thought I was having..... and I told him I thought it was a girl. He said, "Well that's a very good guess." So I thought maybe he had already seen, since ultrasounds are kind of hard to see sometimes. He then scrolled down to the bottom half of the body and asked, "now what do you think it is." My response was a boy- BOY OH BOY-no questions asked!

Our little Dancing Queen!

video
Here is McKinley dancing. This was how she was all night long! video

Dancing the night away.

Every year there is a block party in Oliver's parents neighborhood. It always includes great food, family and friends, and a live band. This is Oliver's favorite part....He loves to dance to the 50's music that the band plays. This year was the first year McKinley could really enjoy the band.......and let me tell you she was a DANCING MACHINE. She did not stop dancing for 2 whole hours. We finally left at 9:30 because it was way past bed time and we still had a 45min drive home. She would have continued dancing all night if we would have let her even though she was so tired. (She was asleep 5 mins into the car ride home.). The band members took a 5 min. break and McKinley looked up at Grandma Brown and said, "More music, more music." After they came back from break they let the kids play with hula hoops. McKinley held on to one for the rest of the night. I could have just sat and watched her all night. She did not want to dance with our family she wanted to be up right in front of the band doing her own thing! Miss Independent!! Here are a few snapshots from the party. I am going to try and post a couple videos of McKinley shakin' her buns!

Moonlight tour down the provo river

The other night our friend Jarom was kind enough to take us on a moonlight tour down the Provo river. We started down the river around 10:30pm and finished just before midnight. It was really amazing. Since we were away from all of the light you could look up and really behold the beauty of the night sky...... We saw bats and shooting stars. Plus, it was nice to cuddle up next to my sweet hubby!

Tiffany gave me a great website for fancy girl hairdo's. This was my attempt at one of them.

Kaden's 5th Bithday Party

On August 4th we went to Kaden's birthday party. McKinley had so much fun hitting the pinata, playing with her cousins, and eating the monkey cupcakes.

Each of the kids got a turn hitting the pinata. McKinley still has not learned that in order to get the candy out-you have to whack the pinata hard. Parker and her were lightly tapping the pinata.

Oh how I love nature...

On August 1st we had a picnic dinner and went hiking with Oliver's family. It was short hike (good for the little ones) that led up to a beautiful little waterfall. It was absolutely amazing....the waterfall, the sunset, and the beautiful surroundings. We will definitely be doing this hike again.

Dinner and a Play

Also, on Friday July 31st we went to dinner and a play with Grammy, Cassidy, Torrie and Parker. We ate at Cafe Rio and then went and saw Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Scera playhouse. We really enjoyed the company....although this was not my favorite performance I have seen of this play.
