Princess Party

This last Saturday McKinley was invited to her first Princess Birthday Party for Tasia. McKinley was so excited to wear her Cinderella dress. They had a great time playing pass the slipper, eating lots of sugar, making necklaces, and getting princess tiaras. McKinley is definitely getting into the whole princess thing.

This post is dedicated to my amazing mother. The other day we were at Target and saw a cute car seat cover that I loved. So we decided to buy fabric and she would duplicate it. Well not only is it better than the one we saw she made McKinley a matching one. She gave them to us on Christmas day. Needless to say I was so ecstatic. I mean look how incredible they look, and plus McKinley just loves her. My mom also made us matching burp cloths. Thanks for a great Christmas present mom....WE LOVE THEM!

Christmas Afternoon

This year we spent Christmas afternoon at my moms house. It was fun and relaxing as always. We had a great dinner and fun playing with all of our new games and gadgets we had received. This truly was a memorable Christmas. I love the valuable time we get to spend with family. After certain events this year I have come to realize how important everyday is. We never know what may come to tomorrow, but as of now COME WHAT MAY AND LOVE IT!

Christmas Morning

This year was so exciting because McKinley is finally getting old enough to understand. I think she was still a little hesitant about Santa coming to our house, but after seeing her gifts Christmas morning she might just change her mind. Before Christmas I kept asking McKinley if Santa was coming and she would said, "No ho ho". She always calls Santa Ho Ho. This year Santa brought McKinley a little kitchen and she was in heaven. She also got all the little extras to go with it. She had been making me a lot of fun things lately with her new kitchen.

Merry Christmas. We had such an enjoyable Christmas. It was so wonderful to feel the true spirit of Christmas from neighbors, family and friends.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is spent every year at The Brown's. We go over to Oliver's parents house and enjoy a nice dinner, a family gift exchange, a Christmas story, and a sing-a-long. It is so exciting to watch McKinley as she is starting to get older. One of the fun and exciting things about Christmas Eve is that Santa shows up and passes out candy canes to all of kids. I thought McKinley would freak out (going off previous experiences this year), but she didn't.

Christmas sing-a-long

This year we joined family at the Christmas sing-a-long at the Energy Solutions Arena. We really enjoyed going and think we will go again next year. McKinley had a great time dancing and singing with her cousin Parker.

Christmas Concert

So this year Oliver and I had a chance to go to SLC for the Christmas Concert. Well little did we know how early we needed to be there. We met up with Oliver's parents in Sandy and headed down for the conference center. When we got to SLC it was crazy busy and there were huge lines to get into the conference center. Well as we got to one of the lines the volunteer told us that there were no more seats available and they were not letting anyone else in. (Lesson learned...leave extra early for the Christmas concert)! We got back in our car and headed for home. Oliver and I did stop at Maverick and enjoyed a nice cup of Hot cocoa together. At least I still got to spend the night with mt best friend.

Birthday Surprise!

For my birthday this year Oliver threw me an early surprise party with his family. We all met at Red Robin and celebrated my birthday and Cameron's birthday. I know Oliver and Laura had put a lot of thought and effort into the night. I am grateful for my sweet husband and his thoughtfulness.

FHE

For FHE a few weeks ago we walked over to our neighbors house to put kits together for an upcoming Relief Society activity. As you could imagine our husbands were extremely happy to help..LOL We needed to put close to 80 kits together and decided we needed to enlist help. It was really fun watching the kids get so excited about helping with the kits. It ended up being a great night with family and friends.

Ward Christmas Party

These were just a couple of pictures we took at our ward Christmas party. We always love going and being reminded of the true meaning of Christmas. We really enjoyed the nativity and the music. I just love the Christmas season!

McKinley loves to help whenever I am in the kitchen. I am a little apprehensive about her helping around the stove, but daddy does not seem to mind. The other day I walked into the kitchen to find McKinley cooking eggs with dad helping on the sidelines of course....and needless to say she was happy to be cooking like a big girl.

Four Year Anniversary

Today is our four year Anniversary. Wow, how time flies by! I love every anniversary because it gives me a day to really reflect on the last year of my marriage. I love to remember the ups and downs that have challenged us to new heights and made our marriage what it is. I feel so very blessed to have such a wonderful husband. He truly has a heart of gold! I love that he is always willing to listen and let me cry on his shoulder. I know that the lord truly blessed my life forever when he led me to my sweetheart Oliver. I am so excited to see what the next year brings. I am sure there will be good times and bad times, but has long as we stick together and rely on the Lord we know that we can overcome any obstacle! I love you Oliver...Happy Anniversary!
